Cultural Arts Week

Description

Students will participate in a week-long intensive Cultural Arts course at the Alaska Native Heritage Center in Anchorage. Students will learn various traditional art forms: fur sewing, grass basket weaving, and basic beading. Students will also participate in Yup’ik and Dena’ina language activities throughout the week. Business and entrepreneurship content will also be taught and after this course, students can take Alaska Business Week through BBRCTE and find a mentor to apprentice a traditional craft.
