In Culinary Arts, you’ll do more than just cook- you’ll explore the world of flavor, learn kitchen safety, master essential techniques, and even dive into the business side of food. From perfecting knife skills to creating full-course meals, you’ll build confidence in and out of the kitchen. Whether you’re dreaming of becoming a chef or just want to cook amazing food for your friends and family, this hands-on class serves up something for everyone. Come hungry to learn, and leave with skills and connections that last a lifetime.
Culinary Arts 1: This course will begin students on that path, instructing them on basic skills such as knife handling, cutting skills, basic cooking technique, sanitation, and much more! By the end of the course, students will also obtain their State of Alaska Food Handler’s Card.
Culinary Arts 2: Culinary II is specifically focused on students who are interested in working in a remote lodge. Students will have the opportunity to work with two incredibly talented chefs with years of experience working in lodges in Bristol Bay as they learn how to plan and execute cooking a gourmet menu.
Culinary Arts Internship: Students will work with BBRCTE’s Internship Development Program Manager to be placed in an internship in the culinary arts field. More info to come!
