Welding Careers: Have you ever considered a career in welding and metalwork? This year BBRCTE is excited to announce a brand new partnership with The Ironworkers Union. In this course students will have the opportunity to gain professional level welding certifications as well as OSHA 10 Certification and gain valuable skills to help launch a career as a welder. Some basic and more advanced welding topics will be covered.
Welding 1: Students will learn basic welding technique, theory, and safety protocols. This course is the first step in the BBRCTE welding program. This is a very hands on class with a lot of time spent practicing welding! This is a great introduction to this valuable skill that can lead to a job, career, or to a very valuable hobby. Completion of this course will allow students to take more advanced welding courses including Welding II, Welding III, Aluminum Fabrication, and Skiff Building.
Welding 2: In this course, students will get the opportunity to build on the fundamentals of working with Aluminum, gaining skills that could benefit them and their communities.
Welding 3: This course will help students expand on the welding skills they obtained in Welding I & Welding II. This hands-on course will teach the fundamentals of working with Aluminum. This is a prerequisite for the Aluminum Skiff Build Program.
Intro to Aluminum Fabrication: Students will focus on building skills for aluminum welding and fabrication and all student participants in this program will learn how to build an aluminum meat trailer. This course will focus more on measuring, cutting, shaping, and welding aluminum at unique angles. Pre-req: BBRCTE Welding I & II or Ironworkers Certification Training or any BBRCTE Skiff Build Course or other welding experience (please detail on application).
Aluminum Fabrication: Students will focus on building skills for aluminum welding and fabrication and all student participants in this program will learn how to build an aluminum meat trailer. This course will focus more on measuring, cutting, shaping, and welding aluminum at unique angles. Pre-req: Students who have completed Welding I.
Skiff Build 1: Students will be focused on building a 20’ aluminum skiff in this course. Students will be learning about basic design and layup and also working together as a team.
Skiff Build 2: This course is a continuation of Skiff Build I. Students will be focused on building a 20’ aluminum skiff in this course. Students will be learning about basic design and layup and also working together as a team on this exciting project.
Skiff Build 3: Students will be completing a 20’ aluminum skiff. This course will be putting together a number of the pieces and concepts from the past two years of welding coursework. Prepare for long days with lots of hands on welding work to complete the skiff together as a team!
